Unimodem Drivers
With the drivers supplied with the Dell upgrade package XP connects at 45 to 49 bps. Winme will only connect between 31 and 37 bps. There are no winme Motorola sm56 drivers available on the Dim 4100 Dell download site. I am really tempted to stick the driver cd I got for XP and try to update milly's modem drivers.

Extremely long story made almost short: Having received the two recovery CD's today for my model 7585 Presario I find I need yet a third CD containing my "modem" (ATM/DSL) card drivers, said CD not being manufactured as yet. PC can't connect to modem
It all went reasonably well, apart from the soundcard and the modem. I got the soundcard working by trying an alternative driver on the list, but the modem refused to be recognised. From what I can find out this is not uncommon with Linux, and modem drivers are notoriously difficult to find and install.

Then go to device manager... right click on my computer > select properties > expand the modem + sign > highlight your modem > click remove OK. Then restart your machine. Try your modem. You may need to create or edit your dialup connection to get it to see the modem. If it doesn't work, use your modem driver file
