Modem Drivers

Hello Everyone.
Has anyone found drivers for the Intel 537EP PCI Modem? Have searched but can't find them anywhere. I found sever Linux compiles for the 537EP. But No Vista. Hmmmmm.. I have installed the Beta 2 and I have to say, I am not impressed with it so far. I realize it is still in the early stages of testing but I am dissappointed in the Hardware capablities so far! I think Microsoft has "Cried Wolf" over this new "Windows Vista" so many times that Developers are getting afraid to sink any more money in developing new drivers and hardware for Vista.

You need to contact Intel about Vista drivers, support, patches or updates. Microsoft is not responsible for thirdparty drivers or applications. Have you tried using the the XP driver to see if it will work? Also file a report; For Feedback: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=55160

Well, I did try Intel for the Modem drivers. Non available. XP Drivers will not work (unless there is a way to force them in) Google and the Web has not produced good results as well. Seems a lot of people are having the same problems with the Intel 537EP. Has anyone had any positive results with Dial-Up Modems?? If so, which brand, type?? I found a driver for my Intel 536EP that works fine for Vista 64 bit on the Intel site under developer selection for the regular XP driver. -- I''m Down the Tubes with the whales!

Your problems is obtaining vista compatible drivers for USB based modems. Many manufaturers are going to take along time to rewrite theirs or will prefer people to upgrade. In the meantime a modem connecting through your ethernet port will work, as this connection requires no drivers.
I had to go buy a cheap ethernet modem because i had the same problem as you. No problems since.
Hope this helps

What kind of modem did you find that works? I've been trying for over a week and I can't seem to find any info on which modems work with Vista. I know that US Robotics modems don't work...Any info would be great! Thanks in advance!!
